As spring melts into summer and those evenings are just crying out for a bit of a sashay, Queenie catches up again with the lovely Peter Castle. A man guaranteed to have your weekend (or indeed your special occasion) filled with the greatest of dance-tastic grooves!!!

Hello Peter, how are you? Hi QJ I’m good thanks.

It’s been ages since we talked so please remind us where we can catch you playing? You can catch me playing Saturday nights in Legends Basement Club, I am now in my 10th year as the Saturday resident DJ. (Is this the longest current DJ residency in Brighton I wonder?)

Are there any new projects in your life? Lots! Friday nights at OhSo starting 27th May 2016 called ‘Sun, Sea & OhSo’ where DJ MakD and myself are playing back to back 7pm till 2am. It will be a mix of 80’s groove tracks with dance remixes to start off the weekend party by the sea. Also a private hire service called PM-Entertainment with MakD, BenC and myself catering for all private functions.

What kind of music are you playing these days? Anything that keeps the crowd going, mainly chart dance remixes, house & dance classics.

Always a tricky question, but what’s your favourite song of all time? It’s still Finally by Ce Ce Peniston, and yes I still want it at my funeral ha ha (finally it’s happened to me!)

Which tune always fills up (or rescues) your dance floor? Well Show Me Love by Robin S wouldn’t go a miss, but there are quite a few others too.

What’s so good about playing in Brighton? People want to have a good time and there is still enough choice of venues to go to, and because I can adapt my music styles there are many choices of venues that I can play at.

What would be your ultimate dream place to DJ (no holds barred and in an ideal world!!!) and what’s been your favourite ever gig? Well I played on the main stage at Brighton Pride last year and I have played at some great large venues, but my fave will always be Busbys Redhill in the 80’s, which was Rank’s flagship club.

Name a tune you wish you’d never played (and why!)? Like A Virgin by Madonna it was top of the charts at the time and it was a wedding but I didn’t know the bride was pregnant. Oooops!

Describe yourself in three words I hate this question, I will let others describe me… answers on a postcard please, bet they are all rude :-).

Current top five please. Oh alright – 6!!!
